Bguns, fair enough opinion on the ot posts.

So how about a fully on topic post from you to start things off? Maybe it will catch on and create a better signal to noise ratio.

Several time I have posted OT because I needed some help on the subject. Thank goodness this site has so many knowledgeable members.

lol, I would have a less dim view of the endless whimsical what ifs if there was ANY evidence of actually making something or owning a tool. That its 100% whimsical is why i seems so troll like ...Too Much Time, if you're listening, balance it with some shop pics, project pics, real machining questions vs hypothetical....please You've been asked and asked and haven't responded, maybe the handle should really be WTF; Wishing for Tools and Frustrated

Tons of semi off topic question posts by TMT's and others.

What ifs, and what would you do with a XYX if you had one, seem a bit over the top...

A off topic section (which would be ignored by me) would keep the guys trying for 30 zillion posts happy...

Quality not quantity for me thanks... When posted 6 0f 20 posts were marked OT, and a couple more would fall in OT catagory in my book.

    Hi Alan.

Could you post the OT topics that I am the OP of?

I am aware of only the recent cell phone one that I clearly marked.

I posted it because these days everyone and their dog has a cell phone and I thought it was of interest.

In my world, I am able to not click on any topic that is of no interest or is not on a subject that I find of interest.

    Thanks

    AKA "white T-shirt"

Almost everyone has a white T-shirt, so why not talk about them at a machinist's forum?

I find the fire pics very very interesting...i made it through yellowstone 1988. prayers for your safety.

They remind me of the fires we have suffered in California...too much so.

I know exactly how Evan is feeling right now.

    Alan

While adding yet another runaway OT thread?

Me - I'd just finished making a pair of nice brass handles when I came in to check HSM:
