I posted this in your other thread so thought I would copy it here.
You can buy blank gears from HPC.If you`re replacing a gear with a splined bore.Turn the old gear down and use what`s left as a bush for the new gear.
You can make gears on the mill quite easily with an involute cutter and your dividing head.
Or you could ask John Stevenson to cut one for you or just for advice.John knows his gears and loads of different ways to do them.
Looking at the picture you only seem to need three gears,or is there more welded than the one I can see?

Edit:Now I seen this pic I think you need more than three gears.

stript out gearbox off of lathe today.
managed to cut welded gear from shaft with some carefull angle grinding!
knocked out taperer pins from gears and it all came to bits quite easily.
drive gear has no teeth left but i can still count how many were on it, but idler gear is missing ! how do i work out what size it is and how many teeth
if i measure the shaft centres could i work it out from there?
i'll post some pictures of gears etc soon.

Take a couple of the cluster gears at random and count the teeth then measure the OD and post these.
This will allow us to work out what size tooth we are looking at.
Then count how many teeth the drive gear should have. I'm presuming the drive gear is the one in the idler bracket [ more pictures needed ] ?

If so then work out the centres of the bottom shaft to the centre of the missing gear and post that.

If the drive gear is stripped double check all the cluster gears for damage, something must have ripped the teeth off.

I had one where some one had stripped the saddle apron at one time and rebuilt it without the interlock to stop the feed and leadscrew being engaged at the same time.Made a right mess of the qc box.

also found out today that the 4 jaw chuck that came with lathe does not fit

it looks the same but has a smaller taper and thread than the face plate, any one want a swap
seriously though, how do i know what spindle size my lathe has it says american short taper Lo http://www.lathes.co.uk/willson/index.html but is that not the smallest size??
