Default 1/12 Scale model car being scratch built

I thought some here might find this interesting while obviously there are lots of accomplished model builders here, still some others are found in rather obscure places. Like this fellow from another forum that I go to. It is a forum that is devoted to the Continental Mark II and as such it is about how to repair and maintain these cars. However this guy came there to find the needed information to build a 1/12 scale model from scratch.

He has already built a 1963 Studebaker Avanti and a 1966 Olds Toronado.
All he uses are hand tools and a mini-lathe.

This is already a long thread and his task is far from complete but I think what he has completed so far is quite amazing.

    Indeed!

But after some search I found another website, with the same guy building the Continental Mk II, not as many photos it seems but there are photos for everyone to see:

It's still early in the build it seems, not even the chassis is built yet.

Maybe he has build logs of his other models somewhere, I'm too tired to look any further now.

Check out page 2 where he machines the tread rings for the tire out of brass, then solders them on and uses it as a master for a rubber mould!!!

    Mad,

    Thanks for the post.

That is some amazing detail on the engine block.

I think that guy has a little more patience than I do.
