Default Bridgeport `way wiper` felt guard

    Hi

I have recently purchased a S1 bridgeport milling machine which required a little work, it is my first `upgrade` from the Warco all in one, but I need some info/advice if possible?

Basically I am trying to get hold of some ready cut felt guards that are attached to the table and sweep the ways clear of swarf and prevents it entering the mechanism.....I have found them in american catalogues but am struggling over here, admittidly i have been lazy and just relied on the internet searches...

Would anyone know where I can get these? I could just make them out of gasket paper but would prefer the pre cut OE type.

    Many thanks.

I personally dont like felt wipers. They catch grit. I replaced mine with these:

Work real good and keep the ways very clean.

Many thanks for responses, i`ll try and get a set but thinking about it could be just as easy and more economical to make a couple sets.....depends on cost, as usual, i guess.

    Folkestone, Kent, England......

    Cheers

Yeah, felt is a swarf collector. There's no way to get the chips out of them. On my Webb Mill, they use molded rubber wipers that are similar in concept to the ones in your link here.
