Default 2 piece milling vise quest

I have a Rong Fu round-post mill/drill mostly for drilling and light-duty milling of enclosures and panels for electronics work.

    The table has 5 T-slots, 5/8" wide, 1.8" on center, with roughly 19" x 8" travel.

Many times, my typical milling vices either can't open far enough to accomodate the work, or will contact the post before I can "reach" the spot I need to drill or mill.

I bought a 2-piece milling vise hoping to avoid this issue, while accomodating longer pieces, but the vice clamp-down slots don't align with my table T-slots properly. Apparently the vice is intended for full-size milling machine tables.

Can someone advise as to the "name" of this table spec so I can hopefully find a 2-piece vice that fits my table?

If it were me I wouldn't bother looking for another vice. You already own a mill so get some plate, Flycut all sides and edges, Drill, tap to fit the vice, Drill clearance holes to fit the table slot tee bolts, Bolt it down and use it.

Does your vise have tapped holes on both ends of the movable jaw?

A lot of times you can bolt the movable jaw to the back side and gain several inches of reach. Works great for squaring up larger plates. If you need to drill through it you can sometimes overhang that area of your part.

Nope. Vise has gussets obstructing moving the jaws to the backside as you suggest. Although I found a 4" Kurt clone on the web that does allow this, and the mounting slots match the t-slots on my table. I found a good deal on a 6" Kurt that, of course, allows this, but the mounting slots don't match match my table.

Pete's suggestions is probably the best.

    Brian,
Due to differing support of various countrys for the use of the metric or imperial form of measurements, For a lot of items like your 2 pc. vice there appears to be no real standards set for bolt pitch dimensions. Given this, Why isn't this information shown clearly on many maufacturers web sites that show drawings and sizes of their equipment? Some manufacturers are really good at this, Others?

Since I don't know your needs for accuracy the use of fly cut plate may not be good enough for what your doing and you may need to go one more step up the ladder and use ground gauge plate for your vice/table adapters.

The two piece vise which I just bought fron Enco on sale has only one (central) bolt hole per piece so you bolt it to any T-slot you want.
