Default Latest Bike Relate Project- What I did today

I just replaced the carburetor on my '93 Harley FXR with a Mikuni. The backplate for the air filter wouldn't fit as the Mikuni adapter was designed for the stock Harley bolt pattern and I wanted to keep my previously made cover, so.....

Front side (Sorry about the flash glare)

Back side with Mikuni adapter installed

    Backplate installed on bike.

    Installed with cover

I hadn't wiped the fingerprints off when I took these photos so excuse them please.

Very nice. Its giving me the motivation to finally start a few of my own engine related machining projects.

Nice job, I'll think you'll like the Mikuni.......buddy has a ~92 FXR that I did quite abit of work to, stout frames on those models..........

nice work. Try turning off the flash. I find my camera, though reasonabley expensive, just turns out trash with the flash on. the subject is allways over bright and the backround is pitch black. without the flash, I am 80% likey to make a blurry picture due to the 1/8 to 1/4 second shutter speed needed in poor light, but if I take 5~ photos from the same position, one usally turns out
(my camera also has a 'best shot selector'(?) function that I believe lets me take multiple photos in a rapid fire mode, then it selects the one with the best focus (ie no movement during capture) and only saves that one (meaning each photo only 1 second to capture, then the best photo only saves when im done taking a series (takes about 3 seconds)

Some folded white kitchen roll over the flash will diffuse it,might have to fold it a couple of times to get the effect you want.

I carry a piece ready folded to pop over the camera flash.

Thanks all for the positive comments. You're right hardtail, I do like the Mikuni! Until now the bike has had the original Kehin CV and a Quicksilver II. The Mikuni is by fr the nicest carb and has fantastic throttle response while being almost as easy to tune as the Quicksilver. In my opinion the FXR is one of Harley's best bikes ever, stout frame, light weight and big motor.
Thanks those of you who provided photo tips. I will try to remember them as I take pictures in the future. To be truthful, I should have known to make some changes to the flash; photography is a long past hobby for me. In my haste to take photos as I was assembling the parts so I could ride all I knew (not a great deal) was forgotten.
