    Sam,
For steam, Try www.classicsteamengineering.com I'm certainly not trying to pull members from this site, But for sure somebody can identify your castings there.

Just a WAG, but they look like they might be castings from Reeves. See http://www.ajreeves.com/ I don't see anything to correspond to your castings, but I think I remember that some years ago Reeves offered look-alikes for the Stuart-Turner 10V, No 4, and 7A. See http://www.stuartmodels.com/inprod.cfm/section/casting

Although not listed anymore, they look like castings for the original single cylinder "Warrior Mk 1" from Reeves.

You might not like what I say,but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.

That looks very similar to an Australian made Gunmetal kit I have. Where in the world are you located.

The casting set bears a passing resemblence to several vertical engine models. Your location and an idea of the size of the castings would help.

The castings look a bit rough to be from any of the more well known makers. In the "olden days" there were quite a few home shop folks who made and sold casting kits that were adaptations of Stuart and other engines, their own designs or castings made from plans in the various publications. I just finished a version of the Stuart No. 4 vertical engine that was made locally.
