Only a short drive from me, would be fun to check out if only I had a place to put it.
Could be a great deal for $500 if it checks out ok....

I'd jump on it at that price, is that a taper attachment on the back side?
that should be worth 4 - 500 or more by it's self.
I cut it twice, and it's still too short!

4000lbs is a bit much to get down my wooden staircase to the basement, as much as I'd love to.
....although I wouldn't be past trying it.![]()
If I didn't have a Monarch already, I'd, definitely, visit the guy.

Wow. And here I bought an entire Monarch 10ee for $500, albeit in pieces. But that included that "$600 steady rest" in that CL ad!Originally Posted by Scottike

I keep lusting after this one. No idea what I'd do with it or where I'd put it, but for $1200 ...

T.Hoffman,
Here's another one for you. The face plates and loose gears must be worth the asking price!

You could build your own shop if you own your own property. I spent several years building my first shop. I dug the footing myself with a shovel about 1 hour work every day when I got home from work. Then I save enough money to pour the foundation. Then I saved and bought foundation blocks, bag cement and sand. Then I saved to buy 2x4s for the walls. Next was the 2x10s in the ceiling. After that I bought the 2x6s for the roof. Then the plywood for the roof. Then the roofing. Then the siding. I had a dirt floor for the first year. The second year I poured half the floor the 3rd year I poured the other half of the floor. Then I did the wiring. I have no doors, no ceiling, no wall covering for several years. Little by little it all came together it took me about 7 years and I did all the work myself.
I know where you can get a free lathe. It is 24 ft long and a monster built about the turn of the century.
That being the key.Originally Posted by gary350

My only choice now is to live with what I have or buy a new place.
Thinking about converting my garage to the shop and just park the vehicles outside..... the good thing is I don't have a wife with veto power on my decisions.![]()
