Sounds like a one-way plane ticket and a pleasurable 4 days off work.

    Madman,
Try QuikX Transport. Their located out by Pearson airport. Or at least they were about 6 years ago.

Cheapest option will be to have a US based freight company ship it to the closest border town to you in the US, then you go down and bring it back and do the clearing/duty stuff yourself at the border. I did this with some woodworking machines a couple of years back and saved a fortune - not only on the price of the machines, but on the ridiculous charges the Canadian based shipping companies wanted for cross border stuff.

Usually you can have the shipment dropped at the trucking company's depot in the US and you can go across and get them within a few days without problems.

Is it possible that by not shipping private they mean not shpping to a residence? I bought a Handy Motorcycle lift years ago and the shipper would only ship to their freight depot. I picked it up from their depot. I recognize that you have the issue of clearning customs and so forth.

I'm in SW Michigan. There are carriers that specilize in hauling bikes. I'm not sure if the go across the border. If needed I can store it in a hanger if you want to pick it up here(near Kalamazoo).

Check around also in your'e area, i know there are different guys who travel to the southern USA all the time hauling back older cars/antique vehichles etc. Think they also haul rust free sheet metal parts, and pick up truck boxes etc.

I used QuikX when I got my small horizontal shipped from Ohio to BC.
I used a small custom hauler when I got my 2/3 sized vertical mill from California a few years ago.
The cheapest will be to get one of the US warehouses to ship to in Barfallo. I use a company called Kinek. They have spots all around the border. They will text or email you and you drop down and pick it up.

Then there is customs. They are OK on self cleared personal shipments. If its a company transaction they make if very difficult for you unless you find a broker.
Are there any special regulation on importing bikes? Cars can be. Hassle unless you do you homework.

    Good luck.

I've use ForwardAir a few times. They supply a motorcycle-sized container, you strap it in and supply a padlock. They get it from A to B, not sure about Canada though. It was around $300 a few years ago.

Edit: It was depot-to-depot, not home delivery.
