OT: mostly minor gloat
I picked up these two volumes of Joshua Rose"s book "Modern Machine Shop Practice" at Cabin Fever this weekend. If you haven't heard of them they are the holy grail of old machine shop books, scarce as hen's teeth and sell for $350 to $450 in fair condition. A new first edition in good condition would be $$$$$$$$$$$$.
First printed in 1887, mine are the third edition 1918, they are 10 x 13" and 2" thick and contain everything you could possibly want to know about machining "back then". My cost was $80.00 but the covers are in poor shape and they will need to be rebound. The pages look near perfect.
Tilt head to left to view pictures.
