I decided this morning that I needed a winch cable ball-hook this morning, to go on the end of my new winch cable.

So I spent a bit of time thrashing about on my lathe---

And ended up with this. Not a bad way to spend part of a boring Sunday!!!

i'd say an excellent way to spend a sunday!!

Sundays i go out for breakfast, then enjoy comming back and again working/tinkering away at some project. Listen to a decent radio program , and just take my time.

No, not really. I could, but this donkey has sucked up enough of my time and energy. I am almost ready to set it up on a shelf with the rest of my "Dust catchers" and move on to something else.

When you started this you said you would not be making a scale reproduction, but as a representative model you've done a fantastic job recreating the essentials. Your best effort yet for both complexity and finish.

I think my Donkey may have found its permanent home!!! When a project moves off the corner of my work desk and makes it onto a shelf, thats a pretty good indication that I've worked on it enough.
