    estop works!

tuning sucks but i have the machine moving around pretty good. fixed a bunch of temporary wiring.

i updated my usbcnc software to a newer version and have had some issues. Bert has been really helpful and quick to respond. It seems we are still somewhat beta testers for his software.

gonna work with erik and get these drives tuned good

Still have to finish wiring the spindle motor and vfd, also reinstall auto lube, wire that to the vfd so it is only turned on when the spindle is moving.

possibly re wire the speed adjust motor. not sure if i want to bother.

bought a smaller disconnect, have to mount and wire that, mount capacitor, still lots of little stuff

all the wiring in the upper portion of the cabinet is going to be replaced when i take the user panel apart for powder coat

What are you doing for coolant? My mist coolant is still manual and needs to e primed after turning it off. Do you have a computer controlled coolant system? I'm looking for any suggestions.

i have the original series 1 bridgeport flood coolant tank. its very rusty and not picture worthy but i am going to get it blasted and powder coated.

i will connect the pump to my control via solid state contactor.

i am not sure about keeping the the system primed. i never have that problem with my bandsaw. havent thought about it

M7 or M8 turn coolant's on in usbcnc

    I have a question

How does mach3 handle jogging off an estop?

It seems usbcnc must see the estop circuit deactivated before jogging is possible.

Depends what it shuts down, In mine I usually set up the 2 button system P.B. start/E-stop in the E-stop string, the start PB straddles the O.T. L.S's when the start PB is pushed with no O.T. it would be just momentary, but if a O.T. has taken place, the Control ON P.B. is held on while jogging off the L.S. when then the E-stop relay will be retained.

That should work for me but I have my pc power/reset button currently tied to my start button. Looks like I will need to add another pb. Maybe a small one in the top of the user panel

    Thanks for the idea!

Not sure how you have it wired, but is it possible to add another section to the start P.B. rather than another P.B.?

Here is the controls book I recommend. It's written by a colleague of mine and he's done a great job of explaining things in a way that is much more accessible than a normal controls text book.

Limits should not be in the e-stop circuit. When you hit a limit mach will estop but you can just reset it and jog off the estop.

Some cnc machines have a keyswitch that bypasses the limit switches to do this.
