Local pricing as individual pieces, depending if at the "going rate", the "gouging rate", or the "it's your risk and we both know it" rate......

Anywhere from about $270 to possibly 3x that, if you could find folks who wanted each and every piece.

I ran thru the pics and mentally added up based on local pricing, kinda figuring the lowest and highest price I felt was reasonable, and tacking on for the folks who are convinced it is all "rare specialty stuff".

realistically, up to about $500, as individual pieces, if you didn't have to sell by a given time.

That depends on whether they are in good condition.... as junk, the mics are parts pieces, at a couple or 5 bucks a pop, for instance.

I'd go 2-300 on it depending on wear and condition of the tools and what specific indicators they were.

The v-blocks are neat, but not really all that extra practical since you don't need a lot of torque to keep them in a vise.

If I would have found it I would have paid at least $500 any more than that and I would have only bought what I needed and not the whole lot.

That's a tidy haul of stuff. I wouldn't like to think how much it would cost new - probalby a grand or two. I guess $200

What a bunch of pikers you guys are. A real quick count breaks it down to about 25 lots worth a minimum of $25.00 or $625.00 total. The inside and depth mics and the calipers and such in the second photo are worth considerably more.

Purchased individually, that would reasonably be worth $500-$1000. Of course, you don't need the duplicates, but they can easily be eBayed to offset the cost of the keepers.

    its a bit different here

if that lot was metric it would be worth a lot more than imperial .

of course you are right about what they are "worth"..... assuming the stuff isn't damaged by rust, wear, abuse, or anything else not visible..... can YOU tell from the picture how many end mills are dull?

But the fact of the matter is that you cannot GET that much for the stuff here... people just will not pay it. I see mics sit un-bought at tag sales when priced above $15 or at most $20 for common sub-6" units. The sellers still have them at the end of the day, and the "cleanout guy" gets them for a song.

The "worth" is equal almost to new, as they still may "work" just as well as new..... (of course they may be chipped, worn out, bent so the anvil and spindle don;t meet flat, etc, you can't see that in pictures)

But "worth" and $2 won't get you a dixie cup of coffee at Starbucks.... people don't care a hoot about "worth".

    Epsi:

I know you are just "jerking chains" here....... two can play that game.

I assume you junked out to scrap all your old equipment that had imperial dials....... as worthless trash.

For myself, I have bought every metric mic I can find at tag sales..... both of them.

The way I see it, distance is distance. I'm not like our old woodshop manager, who said about a part one time "you can't measure that in metric"......
