Primarily focused on the digital conversion.
I have a few buckets of old 8mm film from my mother in laws childhood that I would like to convert to digital. Looking at the cost to do this, it gets a little bit too expensive.
Can anyone recommend how one might do it at home, with good results?
Also, if anyone knows, can they recommend a proper bulb for a projector that will not destroy the film? The old ones created a ton of heat and would melt the film.
I have a decent digital video recorder, but will have to purchase an 8mm projector.
It would seem that the best way to do it would be to scan each frame, but I am unable to find such a beast. (that is at least affordable, or will is available used and will retain resale value)
I checked the film today, it is in surprisingly good shape, as it's been stored in a steaming hot attic for 20 years. I expected it to crumble when touched.
