Makerspace

It seems that the organizational stages are taking a LONG time. I have decided to proceed with the small shop building in my backyard that started the entire group space concept for me. I will draw the building, apply for the variance and begin building next spring unless there is some progress made on the makerspace front.

While I would have been comfortable loaning my tools and equipment to the 'space, I am an old fart who has most of the toys that I want. The new shop will be sized for my use. I don't have the ability to build it big enough to be a makerspace. I would have been fun...

So, has this gotten off the ground?

I am involved with a small group in SW Connecticut that is working to organize a hackerspace/makerspace. Currently wrestling with a lot of fundamental questions and issues, do not yet have a physical space.

They're working on one in Rochester, NY as well. I've had scheduling problems and haven't been to any meetings. They have a web site at http://www.rochestermakerspace.org/ . The gentleman who is driving this has been documenting his experience pretty well on the site.
