Default Rescued this little guy yesterday

    Machine gloat!

Bought this little "drill press" at an auction yesterday. Cost me $301 bucks after buyers premium and tax.

Cnc project on hold, I need to get this thing setup for work lol. I even have collets from the other ones i came across over the years. I have missed having one of these so many times, especially that last one i sold. I did call that guy (now a friend) a few months ago and asked if i could buy it back. That wasn't going to happen.

There is a whole story about how i have had so many of these and how that has now changed. I ended up lodging a complaint against someone at the calgary board of education. Might post the whole story tommorw depending on how busy work is.

He is in good shape, needs some cosmetic work and a tune up

$301 for a Rusnok mill? Isn't there a law against such thievery?

yep, i think electro-mechano has always made the rusnok miller, not 100% tho.

This one is a fairly late model, should clean up well.
I am moving everything around in my garage to make a permanent home for it.

Generally what is the best way of removing staining and paint from a nice ground surface?

I am thinking xylene and scotch brite for the paint? Stuck with the stains?

If that's rust, I'd try some Evaporust (here we go!)

I've just recently tried Evapo-rust. It does work. It seems to be every bit as mild on hands, etc as they claim. I've got some in a plastic container in the bathroom now, and every time I find something in the shop that could use a de-rusting, I just throw it in and forget about it. In the morning, wash it off and there you go.
