Chipbreaker feed rate and feel
I've been using indexable carbide for a while now for turning and thought it was time to make the chipbreakers work (ccmt and dcmt inserts).
Feeding smoothly (longitudinal) by hand, I increased the feed rate until I got chipbreaking action plus a little more. At that point, the feed did not feel smooth anymore. It felt like peeling an apple before the action started.
Is it normal for it to not feel smooth when feed is correct (or maybe I shouldn't be feeling it at all)?
