I felt so dumb!

Went to the shop last night to get my cordless drill to do some work in wife's greenhouse. Naturally both batteries are dead, so put batteries in chargers. Got ladder, climbed up to top storeage shelf and retrieved 30 year old sears 1/2 elec drill. It to is dead, will not even growl. While I amworking on said drill, wife walks in and wants to know what's taking so long, I proceed to show her that the drill won't work. Wife looks down and says, plug it in. I do as i am told. It's going to take a long time to live that one down

Likewise. This past weekend wife came out into the garage whining about the vacuum cleaner being dead. She said she'd tried it in two different outlets. So I go in and ask her which two outlets. Now, I have a fleeting thought about both outlets being on the same ciruit, but then dismiss the idea.
Yep, after getting well down the path of dismantling the thing I decide to try another outlet...you guessed it.
However, in defense of my laziness, I will say that I had a bunch of plywood stacked in front of the service panel out in the garage. So I wasn't real eager to check the circuit breaker first.

That`s about as bad as forgetting to strap on your spurs before you try to climb a pole. You stand in front of the pole, grab it with both hands and lift your leg high to take a good step and power yourself up...without spurs all that happens is your foot slams into the ground and you throw yourself off balance and slam your forehead into the pole....hard. Don't ask me how I know.

I have these electromagnetic safety switches and combo e-switch re-sets on all of my machines. I keep forgetting to reset them through the e-switch unlocked first, electro switch re-set second method (otherwise, the machine just sits there, still unpowered, I turn on the switch, and presto-nothing).

One night, after the fourth time I did this on a turning and threading demo night for an adult class, I noticed four students paying a buck each to yet another student who was quite happy. Seems they had a pool on the times this would happen in a night.

I laughed, for even I had joked that "I am surprised you don't have a pool on this yet". They tend to listen to everything I say.....

Gads, I hate it when I am walking in the shop (large shop, 7000sq ft) to get something for a student, and I forget what it was. I tend to walk a lap or two checking on other projects when this happens. usually though, the students see the dumb look I have when this happens, and they laugh. I remind them that someday they will to become grumpy old forgetful buggers....

There was an artical on the news tonight that some time in the future they will develope a pill to help forget fullness, something like viagra. For me it can't happen to soon.

Monday I am in the parts house buying some filters for the 93 dodge truck and for the life of me I could not remember what year the truck is. I purchased the truck last Aug. or at least I think I did.

How about decending a pole in the middle of a field, unbelting and stepping off into 3feet of 3foot high johnsen grass...oooooh shhhheeeeet.....
