Wearing welding gloves is all about NOT getting skin cancer!!!!!
If I do a quick TIG weld with no gloves, my hands smell like burned flesh. (a little like burned hair).
So that tells me the UV is doing something BAD!

    Wear gloves, for Heaven sake.

    ^^^^^^ THIS.

I can't imagine WHY a person would TIG without gloves. TIG welding produces some of the most intense heat and light.

When ya smell like burned Chicken.....That is a clue. I wear long sleeves and gauntlet style gloves that are very soft and thin for TIG.

Oh....and don't be running a 10 shade with High AMP tig. I move up to 11 or 12 on my Auto glass. Having your eyes feel sore after a long stretch of tig is no fun.

I think people tend to disrespect Tig and Mig because it doesn't immediately burn your clothes off with spatter like 6011. There are plenty of hazards to consider in spite of the fact that Mig and Tig seem friendly enough to weld naked.

Ok guys. I am hearing what you are saying. Like most of us who weld continuosly, I have had my fair share of welding burns, mainly welding galv with a mig. Due to alot of good constructive criticism, I will change my ways.

    Thanks again for your concern.
