Thanks for posting that. My father trained in that facility. By the time he was there most of their time was spent on the factory floors as later in the war you needed to be producing as you learned.

Thanks for posting that. I always enjoy seeing WWII history. I only wish there were more pictures of machine shops working to produce war material or ship board pictures of machine shops available.

Though war is certainly the most horrible activity of mankind, I do sort of envy the WW II generation. I can just almost imagine the sense of "pulling together" each society must've felt during that period.

Industries previously involved in relatively trivial pursuits, suddenly converted to producing things of vital importance.

I'm speaking mainly of British, American, Canadian, Australian, and Russian societies. For some reason I have so such sense of how German, Italian, or Japanese life would've been.
