    Post reruns

is it just my imagination, or are the first 2 articles in April/May Machinists Workshop reruns from a few years ago? I mean the lubricant applicator and the square collet adaptor specifically, I am sure I've seen them before. TV is full of reruns, at $8 an issue ( can.) I don't think its fair to rerun articles, or am I just suffering from sniffing to much Rapid Tap?

$8 per issue! Is that subscription or newsstand price?

Thats the newstand price at House of tools, I have a sub. to the Home Shop Machinist, but every time I subscribe to Machinists Workshop, half of the issues never arrive, someone in the post office must need them more than I do!

Looks like it must be $8 Canadian.

I don't know about the Rapid Tap, but hanging over a can of Dykem will make your nose twitch!

Anyway, the coolant application pen would look familiar as Glenn Wilson had an article about putting an electrically controlled applicator on his mill that ran back in Dec, 1999. The coolant container is of the same design. The mechanism is quite different.

I'm not sure of what you are referring to regarding the square collets. There have been numerous odd-size collet articles run over the years.

And, if you haven't received your copies of MW, please give us a call or email us to that effect. Magazines do get lost and we will replace them.

    I renewed my subscription.

Neil is good at his word, he replaced My issues lost or stolen. They even paid quite a few dollars in shipment for them. A publisher can't stay in business long like that. Theft or LOSS affects everyone in higher prices and lower income for the business. A business that keeps customers happy at a profit loss is not destined for long term success. But the customer is retained.

I think the magazine needs a brown paper envelope to ship in.. it is just too inviting in the clear wrapper. Rare, still not heard of much in the news stands around here. I think bundles of issues should be sold by HSM on ebay. Now that would up income, I am sure libraries could be sold too. Just the helpful hints would sell on ebay. I printed it out in color and I am impressed. I have not added much to it, yet..

    We'll see.

    Neil,
I'm missing from 1985 onwards, I think they have got lost

MEW here in the Uk ships is a plain grey plastic magazine folder, self seal and tuff as old books.
If you get 2,689 and glue them together you can make a plastic mache model of Forrest

Neil, I called you guys and issues were replaced, but I let my subscription lapse and just get them at the store. The strange thing is I have had a subsription for a long time to The Home Shop Machinist and none of them have ever gone missing in the mail. They arrive like clockwork.

Also, I think Forrests writings will be a great asset to the magazine, he is a worthy replacement for the late Frank Mclean.

PS; I once got my HSM in the mail and another subscribers issue was stuck to the back of mine, fortunatly the guy only lived a few miles away.
