    Post Part for speed control on a 7x10 lathe

    Actually the on/off switch portion of it went bad taking out the rest of the assembly. I measured the resistance of the potentiometer and it measured out at 430k out of the circuit. The case looks like it could be marked as 847k. Does anybody know a) what the value should be and b) where I could get one. The lathe is from Homier Distributors and carries a company name of Speedway. It however looks identical to the one from Harbor Freight.

    These circuits have a lot of latitude (read slop) built into them, they're not precision computers for NASA. Stick a 500K from Radio Shack in there. Should work fine.
