Default OT: What a deal ... NOT!!!

You too can own an almost 40 year old lawn tractor with 50 years worth of hours (2,468.2 July of last year) FOR ONLY $1,500!!! He can't prove it but he can tell the motor has been rebuilt by listening to it.

Am I way off base or is this completely out of line?

If you want more information on this piece of equipment here it is: http://www.pdfsmanualsplace.com/john...er-manuals.pdf

See if you can make sense of page 2.

It's all in caps so it must be true!

I love reading ads where people are sure it was 'rebuilt' or has performance parts cam/compression etc, because of the way it runs.

Kinda like the old days, every Ford you saw had a Boss 302, every camaro had a vette engine and every dodge had a hemi.

Well, my buddy has a Wheel Horse, I think from 1970's
He liked it so much that he took it to an auto restorer.
    Now it is beautiful.
I reckon he spent something like that on it but it would be bad form to ask about that, wouldn't it?

I wonder if that is a machine translation from Chinese or some other language.
But that does not seem sensible either because it would have been English first.

I recently dropped some Chinese text on another job into Google translate and it was readable, but a bit "quaint"

You want a laugh, you should see what they go for up here.....

Green and yellow, might as well be gold plated. Or at least people think that way.

I've been trying to find a good old lawn tractor for use, and restore for a couple years, and gave up on the deere's. Finally picked up a ford 1976 lgt145 with a 50" deck, and tiller for $400 this past spring off the original owner. Needs a bit of love, but is more or less what I was looking for.

Looks like one of the more desirable models to me. After all, this one comes equipped with the:
    SOLID NO HOLES DECK
I suspect that probably was one of the more sought after options.

The actual unit does not seem to have near as much rust and so forth as I would have expected. The green parts go not look repainted, the deck may have been.

2500 hours showing? If it still runs it probably was rebuilt.... Can't see much of the engine, but the sheet metal shroud is torn up, obviously Bubba was in there and did "something", very possibly something not good.

Price is "a tad high", for sure.

But his ad isn't hurting you any, why go to the trouble of posting and complaining about it?

Hate to say it, but at that price, it probably wouldn't take long to sell up here...... Thinking it is almost time to cleanup my collection of green and yellow tractors and convert them back into cash.....
