That's mighty kind of you. I am nice and dry in the desert, but my dear cousin and her friends are in St Thomas. Sounds like they are safe, but barely!

There are some real breezes blowing in the Gulf, Off the coast of Antarctica (66.5S, 111.6E) and SW of New Zealand.
But. There are a heck of a lot of PEOPLE in the path of Irma and the J version to follow.

Our house is on the East coast directly across Florida from your blue dot. We shuttered the place and went to a son's house in SC. We left Wednesday afternoon, so we missed the creeping traffic and gasoline shortages on I95. We will probably suffer damages to our property. We parked the second car in the back yard as the garages are packed with machinery. The car may be damaged by wind blown objects. This storm is a bad thing.

I'd much rather the storm start turning towards Florida, have the eye go over directly on top of me as a Cat2. If this thing keeps going westward, it'll go back to a Cat5 in the Gulf and It'll be a nightmare. If it does that, I am headed Eastward.
