    Post Refurbishing South Bend Lathe

I just bought a 9 inch, B Model, South Bend Lathe manufactured in 1943. Lathe has some light rust and stains. What is the best method of removing light rust and stains on this old beauty?

Some one suggested awhile back to use Fine Scotch-Brite pads and Coca Cola. You lucky dog!! LOL! Have fun with it!!

I'd forego the Coca-Cola in favor of penetrating oil, with a ScotchBrite pad. (n.b. get the "real" ScotchBrite; the generic grocery store ones aren't nearly as good.)
