Why am I not surprised?
Although some of the newer technology seems great in concept the execution is haphazard at best. When looking at the huge number of recalls by all of the automakers one could easily assume that they just started in the biz last year and are not quite up to speed yet. Many of the same design flaws and assembly mistakes are repeated from one decade to the next and learning from the mistakes of your competition is simply not an option.
