Default Is this still a machinist forum?

Except for the awesome builds by Brian Rupnow, is anyone else on here doing any machining? I used to get some great inspiration and practical tips on here. That seems to be drying up.

It seems that with photobucket screwing people over, most have lost any motivation to post their projects to the forum. I'm sure most are playing in their shops, but found it not worthwhile to post pictures and risk ridicule.

Spot-on. That’s certainly true for me. I tried the built-in album function of the forum but its just too clunky.

The end of the road then ...

    I've been wondering the same.

    Maybe we should ban 'OT'.

The OT threads get the most attention. I'm not keen on "banning" anything, but I do wish there was less arguing and pointless criticism.

Please tell me more - what is it? Did you make those castle nuts from scratch?

    That's my point.

Or maybe keep them focused on 'doing/making' ie help with a home/shop improvement project or auto repair.
