    Default JMS4 D collets?

Several years back I bought a set of collets I thought were MT 3.
Tried them a couple of times but they set in so tightly I had to really bang on the draw bar to get them to release.
Spindle bearings foremost in mind I put them in storage.

I noticed them today and, while inspecting them again I found a tag in the box that shows "JMS4 D".
Google shows me it's some taper form but I can't make a correlation with them and MT 3.

Anyone know what the hell these collets are?

Nothing stamped on the collet nose? Maker's name? Where did the come from?
Post some dimensions: small end, big end, length between the two areas measured.
    Guessing they resemble these? https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...722699857.html

They would not tighten up so much if they were any other taper.

Sorry Len. That's just esoteric enough that we don't have much (on topic) to suggest.
At the end of the project, there is a profound difference between spare parts and extra parts.

And sell the MT4 set to someone who has MT4 machinery.

Morse taper collets really like to stuck if they are clean and tapers are free of dings and dirt so no real improvement expected there tho..
