3plb, you threw memory insults at me once before; have you forgotten?

Yes, I'm an old man and my memory's not as sharp as it once was. Your's too may fade a bit, if you live long enough.

Has it never occurred to you that your insults reveal more about you than your target?

Your memory has failed you again. I previously commented on your lack of intellect and your complete lack of comedic sense.

This lacks all credibility. lynnl has repeatedly demonstrated obvious intelligence and clearly has an exceptional command of the English language.

I always thought [sic] meant literally "sick" , "twisted", etc. Only ever seen it used with controversial subject matter.

I saw the Shackelton mini series on DVD, amazing.

I may have to look into this one or the one of the demasting. I used to have a sailboat, loved that boat.

"Sic" is Latin for "so". As used in English it's shorthand for "so as in the original". It is used to mark something in a quote that is in some way erroneous so that the reader knows that the error does not originate with the author who is doing the quoting.

For instance, if I were to quote a recent comment by the resistive load,

"Sounds like lots of people up north keep loosing [sic] their footing when out at sea... Clumsy Bastards"

I would need to note that he's as unable to distinguish 'lose' and 'loose' as most of the other folks on this forum.

Is this the correct usage for [sic]?

So the fake news is saying something is fake. Who do we believe?

Score is probably now 1 in 53 for AK.

oh yee of limited knowledge and personal hygiene --- you missed your recent lame attempt at a joke in "shop lighting" so score is now 1 in 54, again - have a great 2019 and looking forward to chatting again in 2020,

little serious note to you - don't become too much of a distraction around here or you will indeed get the boot, this is not in any way any kind of a threat - it's just a logical observation from past site track records by someone who does indeed pay attention to detail - well at least allot more than you do, yes -- mmmwwwaaa - tootles
