    Markx: Do you know more about hexanite-r inserts?
    Saw some on ebay but very pricy compared to random ebay offerings on sandvik/sumitomo cbn.

    Mix of CBN and wBN or sumthing

    If I remember correctly the “hexanite” variety was a mix of cbn and TiC.....softer than pure cbn,but works more reliably at interupted cuts because of reduced brittleness.

    Misinformation in previous post.....I did not remember correctly :P
    Hexanite-r or composite-10 as it is also known is a mix of two different cristalline forms of boron nitride: the sphalerite form (well known cubic structure) and the wurtzite form. The wurtzite configuration is supposedly harder than the cubic form of boron nitride. Much like diamond is harder than graphite....both are elemental carbon, just different cristalline configurations.
