pdf "How to Run A Lathe" Manual
This is just to notify the forum that I just completed scanning and uploading "How To Run A Regal" to the Leblond Yahoo group page. It has lots of info particular to Regals, but there is also a pretty good section on basic lathe operations and other stuff that applies to running any lathe.
Leblond Lathe Yahoo group files page
I'll be submitting it to the Metal Web News page too, and Bill usually adds it right away.

If these don't work, see additional links below.
The manual is 89 pages and it's about 4.7Mb because half the pages contain grayscale photos.
I tried to leave the manual as original as possible, but if you notice any obvious overlooked OCR mistakes please let me know and I'll fix it. Thanks.
I hope some of you find it useful.

If the above links give you an error, it's probably due to exceeded download limits. Here's a couple more places you can get the file for now. I'll probably delete them in a couple months, but they'll help lighten the load off the above links.
Yahoo group files page for manual
or
another Yahoo group files page for manual
yet another Yahoo group files page for manual
or, as a last resort
Yahoo briefcase experiment
Let me know if there are problems. I don't know the particulars about the briefcase link above, but the Vfiles links probably only require joining the group to access the "files" page as usual.
The briefcase link may require me to list yahoo I.D.'s of people who I want to allow access to. If so, send me an email with your I.D. and I'll put you on the "allow list" for a few days so you can get it.
The zipped version of the .pdf is about 4.35Mb. If your email box has enough space, I can just email it to you. If you prefer this method, send me an email advising and I will send it out.

p.s. I'd like a little feedback on this issue if you would be so kind:
When I open PDF's that I've created, some of the characters are squished together. It fixes itself if I refresh the file (close and open it again), and they print OK whether it displays incorrectly or not. If you observe this phenomenon too, would you mind letting me know? If it's just in my own PC I'll try repairing or re-installing Acrobat if it bothers me enough. If it's a bug for everybody I'd like to fix it though.
Thanks.

Vinito,
I downloaded it just after I posted to say I would have a look.I had no problems so I must have been an early download before the world heard about it.
Just looked at my download again and it seems OK to me,but I haven't read every page, just random ones. Not tried to print out but I don't forsee any problem if I do.
I know John S was having trouble so I've emailed him the PDF
