Hello to all the real machinists. I'm retired and have the urge to get a benchtop mill to complement my inherited Atlas 10" lathe. At present the items I plan to make are miscellaneous small parts for old motorcycles, bicycles, whatever. Mainly, I just plain want a milling machine for the fun of it and the money is burning a hole in my pocket. The littlest Grizzly G8689 has MT3 spindle, the heavier G0463 R8. For a person just learning machining is there any objection to the larger mill? Thanks for your ideas.
