good find

I found this Elliot 181 horizontal mill,and got it for free!



Apparently it was not much used as it blew the circuit breaker when fired up.

oh well i could try and see what i could do.

I pulled out the electrical guts and found that;-

1- the motor was single phase,nice i thought it was 3 phase.

2 - it was 21 amps which might explain why it did not work on a 15 amp circuit.

3 - a wire had been pinched againct the coverplate and had arced.

I wired up with new wire pluged it into a 20 amp circuit and away she went HA!!! HA !
!!!!!!!!!

still have to find things like new handles
30 INT tooling-vertical milling attachment..........

The free part does kinda piss me off,but I can't really say anything since I got a moulders bench,three aluminum cope and drags and 800# of oil bonded sand for mothing

BTW weird, how do I go about mothing so I can get a molders bench? Do I just have to catch the moths or what?

Lucky dog. You will find 30 taper isn't cheap, I'm collecting it myself.
