Thread: Cincinnati Toolmaster Drawbar Removal?

  1. #1

    Post Cincinnati Toolmaster Drawbar Removal?

I'm restoring a Cincinnati Toolmaster vertical mill.

Can someone who has "been there" please describe how to remove the drawbar? I have the manual but it is not obvious what I need to do.

At first I thought it must come out through the top (remove gearbox/motor and so on), but perhaps it is easier to drop the quill/spindle down and get at it that way?

    Thank you,
    Jeff Rininger

    Hello Bill ! I have a Toolmaster 2B - has a 40 taper spindle and a variable-speed head.

    Best Regards,

Check at the top of the drawbar if there is a cap. I have a converted contour master. The threads are left hand at the top of the splines / quill.

    Hope this helps,
    Frank
