I know that something was said in regards to the contract between writer publisher only allowing printed matter or something. If this is the reason it can't be done as of now, Has the contract now been adjusted so that it can be reproduced in the future with current articles?

I have mentioned this before that the first 8 issues of Model Engineers Workshop are out on CD
Not by Nexus publishing but probably from India.

If the demand is there they will do it and if ever they see the HSM thread on CD it will be done in a heartbeat.

It can be done, there are ways which I won't publish here and obviously Fine Woodworking has used this avenue as they have gone back 27 years before first electronic rights existed.

Do it now or loose out.
It's not a vast job for modern high speed archival machines, they do far more than the whole of HSM in a day.
No one is expecting any editing, just scan the lot and drop it onto CD.

EDIT, Actually it is more than a lot of people understand and the whole of HSM would take up a few CD's so it would either have to be done like Fine Woodworking and pick some out at the expense of loosing book sales or work in X year increments.

Wouldn't the problem be solved simply because VP owns the articles? Did I miss something in that VP pays for articles it publishes?
