    Here's a link for free monthly publications. No catch, no gimmick. Lots of advertising (which is how they can do this) and a bunch of good articles.

    I tried that once about six months ago ,never received the magazines. Maybe other people will have better luck than I did.

      YES, I have. The secret is you have to act like a company with a company name.

        another source for free trade mags is here at
        scroll down to "search publications newsletters" and there are something like 85 magazines available.
        Its true, you should tell em you are a business, and give em a business name, but most of them are happy to send you the mags.
        Things like American Machinist, although it has fallen a long way from its mid century quality level, is still interesting to read.

          Maybe that's why it worked for me. I have a one-person business, and get over a dozen free magazines/month, mostly machining, welding, fabricating.
