  • Free machinery & metalworking mags

Here's a link for free monthly publications. No catch, no gimmick. Lots of advertising (which is how they can do this) and a bunch of good articles.

I tried that once about six months ago ,never received the magazines. Maybe other people will have better luck than I did.

YES, I have. The secret is you have to act like a company with a company name.

another source for free trade mags is here at
        http://www.machinetools.com/mt/
scroll down to "search publications newsletters" and there are something like 85 magazines available.
Its true, you should tell em you are a business, and give em a business name, but most of them are happy to send you the mags.
Things like American Machinist, although it has fallen a long way from its mid century quality level, is still interesting to read.

Maybe that's why it worked for me. I have a one-person business, and get over a dozen free magazines/month, mostly machining, welding, fabricating.

Ries, thanks for the link. That's a great site with a number of publications that I'd never heard of.
