Gas prices are kinda high right now... I Just filled up yesturday.. $66 bucks for a fill with Regular 87 octane. My truck's V10 8.0L engine doesn't help much either

I don't feel the least bit mad about gas prices. I wish they would go to 5 bucks a litre. That way they would stop making V10 8L'rs and 6000 lb SUV's.

the VW Toureg SUV has an optional V10 diesel. i don't think it will tow as much as a Kenworth though.

i don't know what you guys in the USA pay,but here in New Zealand, regular 91 costs $1.24 a litre, super 96 is $1.29.NZ$ is about 70c US.And tomorrow the government is adding another 5cents in tax to pay for the traffic problems in nz's largest city,Auckland. So they say. What's the bet the take will go straight into the general coffers?
As for suv's,the Auckland city council is considering banning them from the city limits.I don't like suv's,but I draw the line at this kind of local government interference in our lives.Where do you draw the line?No doubt city council's would like everybody to use the buses, but that ain't never gonna fly.Cars gave people personal freedom, and they won't give that up lightly.
Of course these local government wallahs all drive ratepayer funded cars themselves.
Ahhhh, feels better having got that off my chest.
Rant off,go look at some machinery!

3 Phase, anyone make you feel guilty about owning that rig you can park it in my drive! If I find something bigger I'll tell you to keep it! Hell, you probably don't need it anyway.

You don't want to know the price of our fuel.

Upside is we get a bigger gallon but they now price in litres

Costs me $100 to fill my 3/4 ton. Ex cab, full box, 4X4. 6000 lb behemoth. Useful as hell. Will pull and carry anything and go just about anywhere. I drive it as little as possible. Daughter uses my car most of the time, so I walk or ride my bicycle (now that the snow is disappearing). If I keep the big beast, I'll exercise more!

If you can afford $40,000,you can afford $3 a gallon for the gas.

So two points #1 people have it and will pay it. and #2 Futures traders know this.

I may as well make it three points so here goes #3 Most cars are too f---ing small and as a result very dangerous.Recently a hybrid car was T-boned by a guy on a motorcycle. The woman driving the "car" was injured and taken to the hospital. The guy on the bike walked away.

I just need one more tool, just one!

I'm not sure about other parts of the country, but I think about $.37 cents on every gallon goes to state and federal taxes here in MA.

I think if we all suddenly had more fuel efficient cars and trucks, the government would loose a lot of fuel tax income, so as gas prices lower, the tax would probably increase and you wouldn't see much difference in fuel price. You know how the government can be, it likes to maintain the same income levels. My theory anyway.

3 phase. Los Angeles begged people years ago to conserve water. Made it illegal to water your lawn and made them put bricks into their toilets to restrict water flow per each flush.

Then, they immediately raised water prices with the excuse that they weren't selling enough water and still had bills to meet!
