  • Another shaking the head in disbelief

I was at a dollar store to buy some stationary for the kids when I saw a 24" wrecking bar for $1 (that's Canadian dollar folks, which is approximately 60 cents US). This bar is about 3/4" round and looks to be a fairly good quality steel. Needless to say it was made in China. I couldn't buy this amount of steel at any metal shop even if I found in the scrap bin. I picked up 6 of these for future projects. Even though it was a deal, I have unsettling feelings about this.

A few years back US Calvary www.uscav.com had alloy Titanium wrecking bars for about $25US - these were made in the USSR at a time when they needed the trade badly. You cannot get the raw Titanium for that price either...

There are dozens of dollars stores in the greater Toronto area. The one I visisted was on Dundas near Hurontario on the north side.

Just checked, Thrud and it's down to a mere $15 US! Think I might have to stock up on those when I get some cash!

            Six crowbars?

I can understand your concerns. Have you noticed unmarked cars following you around lately? Any white vans with antennas parked near your house.

You could be a suspect., now. ;-)

They were a deal at the old price! I know someone that has one - good stuff.

I am sure they are popular with the LCB's too - who wants to lug a heavy steel one around while they B&E!

Just checked. The crowbars are now $39.95 US. The $15 must have been a sale!

I ordered one of those cavalry wrecking bars. They were described as "On order"
