  • Motor Run Position?

I need to build a Q&D flush and clean machine for a couple of automotive A/C condensers and evaporators. If it works well enough, I may use it for flushing radiators as well. In any case, my questions is:

Can an electric motor run in the vertical position?

I've got an old GE 5KC49LR.. (115v, 11A) to run a pump. The problem is that the pump needs to be submerged and the drive points up.

Remember, this is Q&D! ... So no special order parts.

Ken if it's a ball bearing motor sure it will run vertical. It's the sleve bearing units that don't do hand stands well.
I just need one more tool, just one!

Thanks "D". Yeah, this is one of those salvage yard motors. I put new bearings in it and it runs like new. Not bad for about $1.00 and two bearings.

That's good buying Ken, down here I have to pay NZ$5 and up for a scrappy sourced motor.

        cheers, Ken
