          Barry, I'm not sure what make the big lathe is even though I spent many hours at the helm. It took 8.5 hrs just to cut the taper. The machine belongs to a friend of mine, an ex-"Coastie" who learned the trade in the Sub-Pens at Charleston. Without his knowledge and patience this would not have been possible.
          Chad, the County contributed no funds to the project. It was funded through the Heritage Corridor fund and private donations.
