      I'd have to look to be 100% sure (strange how one can see something for years and still not really see it) but I am reasonably confident it's right-handed. On a 10K, anyway.

              JC is correct. They have used both. Back in the '30s it was opposite of what it is today. I have a set of half nuts to prove it. They do not work on todays lathes.

                of the 8 I have owned, 7 for sure were right, 9" model a's and one 10k. I can't remember what my 15" was.
