We are thinking of you Forrest and hope for a complete recovery. Maybe now is the time to get a new furry companion. They help so much in times like these.

Gosh Forrest,
If goodwill and respect will heal a guy I figure you'll be twice as well off when this is done than before. You have a well appreciated knack of making the complex understandable.
Thanks, Dave Savage

Good luck Forrest, and God speed on your recovery. Most of what I know is due to all the old farts like you that I've worked with over the years. Thanks for sharing those skills, Smitty

I certainly echo the sentiments of the rest of the group. Glad to hear you're doing well and sure hope for a good recovery for you Forrest.
On the subject of strokes, I'll share an email I rcv'd a few days ago. I hope no one here ever needs the info, but maybe it will be remembered if it is needed

RECOGNIZING A STROKE - A true story
Sally is recouping at an incredible pace for someone with a massive stroke
all because Sherry saw Sally stumble - - that is a key that isn't mentioned
below -- and then she asked Sally the 3 questions. So simple - - this literally
saved Sally's life. Some angel sent it to Sally's friend, and they did just
what it said to do. Sally failed all three, so 911 was called. Even though
she had normal blood pressure readings, and did not appear to be having a
stroke, as she could converse to some extent with the Paramedics, they took her to
the hospital right away. Thank God for the sense to remember the 3 steps!
Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify.
Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may
suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a
stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three
simple questions:
*Ask the individual to SMILE.
*Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
*Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE.
If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1
immediately, and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify
facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general
public to learn the three questions. They presented their conclusions at the
American Stroke Association's annual meeting last February. Widespread use of
this test could result in prompt diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and
prevent
brain damage.
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people,
you can bet that at least one life will be saved.
I know it said just 10 people, but I want as many people as possible to know
these three questions, in case they have to ask me.

Good to hear from you again. Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. My Mother just went through the same thing and has recovered completely.

Each of US, life if precious. YOu have to take what you got left and make the most of it. A young and healthy person can be killed in a instant by a drunk driver.
Enjoy life the best you can. Getting old and sick is not fun, but consider the alternative. (I am struggling to accept that)
Forrest I hope you are with us for a long while and stay active.
We need more experts and less self proclaimed experts. Me? I am learning more each day.
Each door opens to a new door of learning.
Perhaps I can succeed in my children what I have failed in my life.

Glad to hear you are getting along well. I'm sure you will make a complete recovery, can't think of anything that would keep a guy like you down for long.
When my wife was 36 I watched her have a have stroke, very strange thing to see. As she was speaking to me her speech became disjointed and then she could not speak, she was unable to read, couldn't remember her name. Happily she made a complete recovery in a few short months. She later told me that what was happening was she knew what she wanted to say but could not make the words.
So it ain't the end of the world as you seem to have the right attitude, KEEP IT.
