It's a variation of an advance fee fraud. You won't be able to "collect" until you pay various "legal" fees. Ignore it.

          True:
Some guy rang me up the other day about a transformer.
He said I'm a friend of Alistairs.
I said your not mate, he hasn't got any.

Silence on the other end of the phone ........

I'm surprised the guy on the phone didn't say:

"I'm not your mate, my mate is female"

I stopped today, the wrecker stolen from my friend was broke down on the side of the road. The wrecker was here, much use, very valuable to me to move the machinery me and friend purchased at auctions.

I stopped the car, started getting out. Then thought, at the least I am going to break a hand. I have not done my two finger pushups in years and know my hands are soft. I called the owner of the wrecker, told him on his answering service where it is and pulled the car back in drive.

Am I getting old? Soft? Scared? or just smarter?

I consider myself Alistairs friend (along with several others here). I have not cleaned out a spare bedroom for him to move into yet thou.

              David

One of the secretaries at work was careless and allowed her PC to be infested with viri. One of them harvested the company email list. Now I get that same email, or a variation of it, at least 5x per day. I also get spam for things like:

Cheap Cialis, Viagra, etc (but not spelled correctly)
DEAR SIR: BUSINESS PROPOSITION (like you got)
Live teenage nude nurses in bondage

It's just another annoying fact of life, I suppose.

Take a moment to forward that email to the FBI Scam buro on the web. They might actually nail someone if it's in this country.
