  • How is Thrud doing?

It has been a while since I've had the advantage of my friend Dave "Thrud's" experience. I sure hope he is still active and has a hope of getting his vision back.

Is socialized medicine any better than what we have in the United States? I don't insurance and most American's don't. And the cost of a doctor is usually more than rent and a car payment. Ordinary people just don't have the disposable income to see a doctor.

Check in Dave, we miss you.

    Thanks,

    Spence

I can never understand why you guys are so against socialised medecine. Here in the UK the only worry about illness is the effect of being poorly.

Based on the level of care my relatives in Norway recieve, I think I'll stick with our private health care system.

The reason I don't want it is because our government fails miserably at everything it attempts to control. Well, I do have to admit the one and only thing they do succeed with is the military. Our social security is a farce, the mail is losing millions of dollars, the fbi, remember Hoover? If you knew what all our gov't agencys cost {waste} you wouldn't believe it. And no, I don't have insurance.

As I hear it, the trend in socialized medicine is to pay taxes to support it and then still have to pay a private physician if you want to be treated before your illness claims you. There's no free lunch, why is everyone still looking for one?

So none of this answers the question, where the hell's Thrud, his wit and his knowledge?

Thank you to our families of soldiers, many of whom have given so much more then the rest of us for the Freedom we enjoy.

It is true, there is nothing free about freedom, don't be so quick to give it away.

Skilled labor follows the money, and that includes the medical profession. If medical care was government run the higher quality doctors and nurses would still be available. But only as private or personal care givers, they wont be working under the government program. Just as they dont work under the HMO system. JRouche

Outrageous and unacceptable in a civilized country.

No point in having modern services if you need to wait months or years to get them.

Now how about Thrud guys? Socialized medicine seems to be the largest magnet pulling all the "old iron" to related threads. I guess that makes them somewhat on topic ??

Thrud lives in Canada, I believe he has socialized healthcare?
I hope he is doing well, others and myself need more of his guidance for years to come.
