Hello All,
It looks like the planned release of our next engine project at the August 13-14 Iron Fever Expo is not happening.
In early May, we released an ad for the July-August issue of HSM stating that we would have the plans and instructions ready for release at the show. (See page 75, top-right corner) At that time, all was well and on track. Since then, we have had several setbacks, the largest of which was trashing the crankcase about 2/3 the way through machining it. (This alone took almost a month of evenings to re-do.) A psychotic pace at work and a growing honey-do list are also big factors.
The LME-125 "Puck" will need to be pushed back at least until late fall to ensure a well-running, durable engine an accurate drawing set and complete instructions. I would rather be sure everything is right before having others pay for a drawing set and be disappointed.
Puck's specs are as follows:
Configuration: single-cylinder flat-head four-stroke
Displacement: 0.27ci
Bore x Stroke: 0.680" x 0.750"
Compression Ratio: 9:1
Weight Goal: <10 oz w/ muffler
Power Goal: Run an 8x6 prop at 10k+
Joy and I will still be setting up at the show, selling our Handy Little Lathe Charts and plans sets for our Pip 3-cylinder radial engine project. We plan to bring the Puck engine and a draft plans set as well. If you can make it to the show, stop by our booth and say "Hi".
Sincerly,
Todd.
