I thought maybe some of you fellows across the pond might be familar with Hauser of Sweden. I am interested in an old machine made by them but I'm not familar with the company.
Thanks
Michael
I'm not aware of any Swiss machines that are not "good". Many Swiss machine tools, are in fact, "as good as it gets"
Re Hauser jig bore...to me, the desirability depends on the year as well as condition...is it one of those antique looking "rounded" types or a modern "square" edged type ?
Don, here is link to the auction. This is the machine I posted about on your board hoping I could get somebody to look at it that lives in the neighborhood. The sellers told me they are riggers only and would have a clue as to the condition of it. I am a days drive away and didn't want to gamble on the condition. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Don, I need a good drill press. Good used drills are still expensive for me, I guess because everybody wants one. Jig bores aren't bringing anything anymore, so I would be happy to buy one and use it for a drill press. That jig bore was actualy a little bigger than I wanted anyway. I imagine a small Moore will come up soon. There is a #1 at ebay now but it is on the wrong coast.
