    Jaybird,
You have a poorly designed system, halon should be released from the overhead, Halon will also not extingush a fire if the space has ventilation. Halon will not kill you
I have been in numerous marine engineroom fires when halon is released, The combination of halon and other fire fumes will kill you though.
    Non, je ne regrette rien.

One other interesting fact about Halon. A diesel engine will runaway if a halon system is discharged in an enclosed engine room. The engine can actually run on the gas and unless you have an engine intake (emergency stop) damper you can have an uncontrolled overspeed condition. I am not sure if it is required but in yachts it is reccommended that the fire supression system is connected to the intake damper.
