anyone with a harrison L5 lathe?

hi gent's
im having great difficulty in putting oil into the cross slide oil nipple's,
a standard grease gun works fine on all the other nipples but the cross slide nipples are a tight fit into the hole. anyone who has a harrison L5 know of a solution please?

i have an l5 and iused a end mill to open up the hole on either side of the cross side. i also made up an oil gun out of amini grease gun with brass plumbing fittings and some sink drain stuff. i turned down the dia of the grease/oil head a little bit.
