Bush thread chasing

I am cutting a 24 tpi Whitworth thread on a
bunch of parts, i needed to chase the threads to get the proper radius .
Not having a thread chaser I hit upon the idea of cutting a segment from a 7/16 by 24
die and making a holder to hold the segment to chase the thread .
Well i cut the segment out ,and then happened to see a pair of vice grips -clamped the die segment in the vice grip,clamped the vice grips in the tool holder slot and chased my thread -HAHAHAHA
how unprofessional is that!
Parts threaded and chased-time making tooling about 3 minutes.

sorry- bush as in bush mechanic

bush mechanics dont need sockets wrenchs and nice stuff,just a pair vice grips and a hammer.

I guess i could have used a tap to hob a flat piece of tool steel-but by the time i had done all that.......
