John,a friend and I have been looking into building ourselves a cnc router, not a little one,but on the order of 12x24' envelope and a 7.5hp router motor minimum.

We were looking around for computer parts and pieces when we stumbled on these-

Industrial computers, built to handle dirt, chips, coolant spills and dirty fingers. As a bonus they don't bring much, even NOS NIB units.Last 486 with a touch screen and monitor I saw sell new for less than $150.

Do a search on ebay and see what comes up.

I am also currently trying to build a CNC grinding wheel profiler. One more use for a computer in the shop.

    Might be interesting.
